Colonial charm in the shadow of volcanoesDay 1: Welcome to Guatemala
Arrive in Guatemala City and transfer to Antigua, a city of pastel facades, cobblestone streets, and volcanic silhouettes. Settle into your colonial-era hotel and let the rhythm of the old capital draw you in.
Day 2: Flavors and foundations
Explore Antigua’s rich layers on a guided walking tour. Wander through sunlit plazas, sample street eats, and uncover the stories hidden in crumbling convents and vibrant markets.
Day 3: Among the coffee trees
Travel into the hills for a hands-on coffee experience at a working finca. Learn every step of the bean-to-cup journey, from harvesting ripe cherries to roasting and tasting highland-grown blends.
Volcanic waters & maya traditionsDay 4: The highland way
Depart Antigua and journey through the highlands, stopping in Chichicastenango to explore its colorful open-air market—alive with flowers, textiles, and timeworn ritual. Continue on to Lake Atitlán, ringed by volcanoes and Maya villages.
Day 5: Still waters, soaring peaks
Wake to cobalt lake views and spend a day at leisure—paddle, relax on the terrace, or simply watch clouds drift over the volcanic rim.
Day 6: Threads, cacao, and community
Take to the water to visit lakeside villages. In San Juan La Laguna, meet local artisans, learn about natural dyes and traditional weaving. Taste fair trade chocolate at a cacao co-op and connect with the people who keep these traditions alive.
History in the City of echoesDay 7: Into the lowlands
Fly to Guatemala’s Petén region and settle into a jungle lodge on the shores of Lake Petén Itzá. The hum of cicadas and calls of toucans mark your arrival in the ancient north.
Day 8: Echoes of an empire
At dawn, climb Temple IV in Tikal and watch the sun rise over a canopy of mist and ruins. Spend the morning exploring grand plazas, jungle trails, and temple steps reclaimed by time and tangled roots.
Day 9: Waters of rest
Unwind along the shimmering shores of Lake Petén Itzá. Swim, read, or simply drift in the breeze. Here, the Maya once came to heal—the water still whispers their stories.
Rituals, ruins & rainforestDay 10: Crossing borders
Travel by road into Belize and arrive in the lush Cayo District. Settle into your jungle retreat and enjoy an evening under the stars.
Day 11: Into the underworld
Venture into Actun Tunichil Muknal, a sacred cave where the Maya once communed with their gods. Wade through pools, pass glistening relics, and witness the resting places of ancient souls in this powerful ceremonial site.
Salt air & sea breezesDay 12: From forest to sea
Journey east to the Belizean coast, then fly to Ambergris Caye. Check in to your beachfront hideaway and let the sea breeze sweep everything else away.
Day 13: Coral sanctuaries
Sail north to Mexico Rocks, a shallow patch reef teeming with marine life. Snorkel among colorful coral heads, shimmering fish, and delicate anemones in crystal-clear waters.
Day 14: Barefoot paradise
Spend the day soaking up island bliss. Lounge under palms, paddle turquoise shallows, or sip rum cocktails by the sea. That evening, dine by candlelight on the dock, waves lapping gently beneath your feet.
Day 15: Final island moments
Wake slowly, take one last swim, and fly back to Belize City. Your journey ends, but its beauty will linger.
