Quito, Santa Cruz & Isabela Island
Historic heights between earth & skyDay 1: Arrival in Quito
Arrive in Ecuador’s highland capital and settle into Casa Gangotena, an elegant hotel overlooking Plaza San Francisco. Sip a warm canelazo on your balcony or take a twilight stroll through the cobbled heart of the Old Town, ringed by mountains and rich with history.
Day 2: The Center of the World
Explore Quito’s UNESCO-listed core, where baroque churches shine in gold and Andean culture hums in every plaza. In the afternoon, visit the equator at Mitad del Mundo and delve into Ecuadorian traditions at the nearby Intiñan Museum.
Wild shores & ancient giantsDay 3: Welcome to the Galápagos
Fly to Baltra and ferry to Santa Cruz Island, where Finch Bay’s beachfront lodge awaits between sea and mangroves. That afternoon, journey into the highlands and walk among giant tortoises grazing in misty grasslands.
Day 4: Sea Lions & Starlight
Cruise to Santa Fe Island and snorkel in calm waters beside sea lions and colorful reef fish. Return for an afternoon at leisure, then share a private dinner on the beach—candles flickering, waves just steps away.
Where lava meets the seaDay 5: To the Edge of the Earth
Take a ferry to Isabela and settle into Iguana Crossing, a beachfront eco-retreat at the edge of wild. Walk the sand, visit the flamingo lagoon, or toast the day from a rooftop terrace as the sun sinks behind the volcanoes.
Day 6: Craters & Coastal Waters
Hike to the rim of Sierra Negra, where one of the world’s largest craters stretches into haze. That afternoon, kayak through Tintoreras’ lava-lined channels, where penguins, turtles, and reef sharks glide beneath your paddle.
Day 7: A World Below the Surface
Venture to Los Tuneles, a labyrinth of lava arches and crystalline shallows. Snorkel among rays, sea turtles, and whitetip reef sharks in a landscape shaped by fire and time. Return for one last sunset with sand between your toes.
Day 8: Return to Quito
After breakfast, ferry back to Santa Cruz and transfer to Baltra Airport for your return flight to Quito. Carry with you the silence of the lava fields, the playfulness of sea lions, and the ancient rhythm of the islands.
Set on the edge of Plaza San Francisco in Quito’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, Casa Gangotena is a restored mansion that exudes quiet sophistication. With just 31 elegant rooms, a refined restaurant, and panoramic rooftop terrace, it offers an immersive stay at the crossroads of colonial heritage and contemporary comfort. Gangotena is perfect for couples or culture-loving families.
Tucked beside a quiet cove near Puerto Ayora, Finch Bay blends sustainability with serenity. With oceanfront lounging, an onsite naturalist, and easy access to Santa Cruz’s top sites, it’s the perfect base for land-based Galápagos exploration. Kayak through turquoise waters, spot marine iguanas on black lava rocks, or simply unwind by the pool. This is eco-luxury at its most effortless.
On the shores of Isabela, where volcanic peaks meet the Pacific, Iguana Crossing blends relaxed style with island spirit. Wake to ocean views and marine iguanas basking in the sun. Explore white-sand beaches, lava fields, and wetlands, then return for fresh, locally inspired cuisine and sunset by the pool. Proudly Isabela-born, this intimate retreat captures the wild beauty of the Galápagos with effortless charm.
